Take an Easter break

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

This thing ground to a halt about a week ago… anyone notice?

Everyone I’m speaking to seems to be stressed out and exhausted in the run up to Easter. A good time to be thinking about new life! And also maybe a good time to deliberately take a break from the daily bible readings.

That might be another reason why last week’s post on the main Dream blog inviting prayer requests seems to have really connected.

We’ll start this one up again after the school holidays and keep going through to the end of Matthew. After that I’ll be really happy to carry on, pause for a while or stop altogether, depending on what seems to be most wanted and most helpful for all of our spiritual disciplines.

 Happy Easter!

who are you?

This is an aside. So far over 30 people have signed up to receive this as a daily email, while others get in in their newsreader, or just visit the blog.

Inevitably, a minority of us are the gobby ones (er… I mean those who are brave and generous enough to share our thoughts and questions in the ‘comments’) while most prefer just to read. And that’s great. But in an attempt tempt a few of you to make your first comment here’s a simple invite to introduce yourself.

All you need to say is your name. If you like you can add some other info, eg

-Anything else about yourself (eg where you live)Â

-Are you in any way connected with one of the Dream groups?

-How are you finding this daily reading thing so far?

-Which passage have you enjoyed the most/least so far?

-anything else at all.

btw if like me you’re one of the brave ones who comments already, this still includes you!

Fasten your seatbelts, we’re about to take off.

This could be a bumpy ride, with turbulence right from the start. I challenge you to name a bestseller with a less exciting start than the beginning of the New Testament.

It’s totally boring! (although the comments might challenge that perception)

This is a community thing, so enjoy the daily read, knowing others are reading the same passage. Then add your thoughts, questions, inspiration, irritation, etc to the mix or read those of others, by clicking on “comment”.

 Looking forward to the journey
