This passage raises some interesting questions about what does/doesn't constitute acceptable worship, acceptable to God that is, and our motives for worship.

Nice to know that we won't be struck down for using stringed and percussion instruments! I was stunned at Spring Harvest this year when some people were asked to stop playing their tambourines during the worship, because they were trying to record the singing for a live album, and the tambourines were interferring with the recording. I felt like turning up with a big drum the next day! Is it me? Shouldn't those people be free to worship God in what ever way they choose?

Is King David really worshipping just to get blessing for himself? It sounds like that.

No volunteers here for the burlesque dancing - but I hope to, in the words of Matt Redman, "become even more undignified" with a tambourine at Spring Harvest next year :)
