on fri I was walking down the drive to my dept and the sky was clear and there was a tree that was so beautiful I stopped and took a photo - had my camera as it was graduation day for my students!

On fri eve and sat I was in Manchester and at one point I was walking and saw two little girls pestering their mum to be able to pick up some of the leaves that had just fallen, because they were beautiful.

Creation is awesome but we were made to be stewards of it and yet we don\\\'t - creation was and is perfect, but I think as part of our fallen humanity we have managed to spoil it because we believe we are better than God and we don\\\'t look after it properly we think we can improve it - but how can you improve perfection?

"Creation is good, so very good"
I love creation, it's variety, complexity, the way species and peoples interact. I love the awesomeness of His creation.
What I find even more awsome is that God gave us this perfection to manage and be responsible for. God empowers mankind, , right from the beginning....he didn't have to he'd have managed it a whole lot better than us.
But in interacting with, managing and being responsible (and irresponsible!!) for the created world it reveals so much more about the detail, majesty and awesomeness (and forgiveness) of God.

"Creation is good, so very good"...but it's not perfection anymore...man, I can't wait to see heaven!! (but not just yet I hope)

"On the seventh day he rested from all his work"

Where I work busyness and exhaustion is often seen as a badge of honour. God expects us to prioritise rest as a means of fruitfulness rather than have unhealthy workaholic behaviours. From the very beginning creativity and rest are interconnected. God invites us to discover the rhythm of a weekly Sabbath, a rhythm that helps us to keep perspective and protects us from burning-out.

"it was so good, so very good!"

Creation is good, so very good. The earth is good. I am fundamentally good before anything else and so are you.... yeah I know I screw up massively but that's a secondary thing. God made us well. He made us godlike!
