I handed my notice in today for the job I am currently in and I am planning on taking a plunge and moving to London from Liverpool at the end of February. I currently have 3 jobs in the pipeline - but nothing else. I have very little funds to keep me going should I have no job sucess and I have the offer of my friends floor for a few weeks whilst I get a job and get accomodation. I have been praying that this decision has been the right one for me and I guess I am taking a leap of faith that I have made the right decision. Anyways - to get to the point. The following lines of this passage have really helped me:

“Don’t think you have to put on a fund-raising campaign before you start. You don’t need a lot of equipment. You are the equipment, and all you need to keep that going is three meals a day. Travel light.

“When you enter a town or village, don’t insist on staying in a luxury inn. Get a modest place with some modest people, and be content there until you leave.

In other words - I need to stop worrying that I have to be sorted with everything before I move down. As long as I have my faith and my belief - I can give anything a try.....scary and daunting but I think I am going to be OK.

This is really valuable and practical advice, i find. Trying to find ways to impress and inspire my friends (christian or non-christian) with fancy words or visualisations or whatever, to show what i believe, can be such an easy trap to fall in. Aim to 'travel light'!
