Matthew 9:35-38

Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” he said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!”

I’ve heard the comment several times that you need to be careful what you pray for cos it may well be that God wants you to be the answer to your own prayer! So I wonder if the disciples realised that when they followed Jesus’ urging to “[Get] on your knees and pray for harvest hands” they would become the harvest hands?
I’ve certainly experienced this myself - which is why I’m here doing what I’m doing - so watch out!
