10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, …

Fasten your seatbelts, we’re about to take off.

This could be a bumpy ride, with turbulence right from the start. I challenge you to name a bestseller with a less exciting start than the beginning of the New Testament.

It’s totally boring! (although the comments might challenge that perception)

This is a community thing, so enjoy the daily read, knowing others are reading the same passage. Then add your thoughts, questions, inspiration, irritation, etc to the mix or read those of others, by clicking on “comment”.

 Looking forward to the journey

A day late – but never mind!

The list may be boring – but look at who’s in it! All sorts of saints and sinners. If you can get to be Jesus’ ancestor with a dubious lifestyle like Rahab, or as a king who bumped off the hubby so he could get his woman, then maybe there’s room for me in His kingdom after all…

Duh! Just put this in the wrong place! Well, I’m new to this blog thing. Will try to better next time…

It’s sooooo difficult to find inspiration in the greatest start to a story of all time when you’ve read it/heard it/watched it so MANY times! HOWEVER – thanks Frances for showing me a new angle in the “boring begats” – what a great thought.

Also – “uncategorised” (AKA Richard I suppose) – It’s actually the most mind-blowing start to a best seller – I mean, it SHOULD be – but I guess it’s the way you tell ‘em and, yes, it’s not told in an exactly gripping style at all is it! Shame.
